Awaken Your Passion: February Events


This February our Alive in All Seasons’ theme is Art: “Awaken Your Passion”. In a moving quote from HonorĂ© de Balzac we are reminded that art and passion are inextricably linked; he states, “passion is universal humanity; without it, religion, history, romance and art would be useless.” Art is truly a conduit that allows us to experience the richness and brilliance of all that life has to offer. Art can have a profound effect upon us by providing nourishment to our spirit and soul.

As you know there is always something special going on here at Juniper Village at Lebanon and this February we will celebrate another wonderful month filled with memories, laughter and the opportunity to create! This month we will open ourselves to various forms of art. We will be taking field trips to local museums, learning about the Great Masters, and creating masterpieces of our own using various mediums.

Please join us for our Heart Health Workshop at 4:00 pm on February 6th, our Reiki Introduction at 2:00 pm on February 21st, and our Juniper Art Show and Reception from 10:30 pm to 3:30 pm on February 27th. Can You Feel the Beat?


We all felt it when guest speaker, Sybil Stanbaugh, came to lead us in
a drum circle. Most of us had never experienced the powerful effect
of drumming together in a large group. We were all engaged and
energized by the rhythm and music we created together. We drummed and
sang for almost an hour and felt like we could drum all night! We will
definitely have to do this again. We love trying new things!

A Festive New Year's Eve


At Juniper Village at Lebanon, we spent all week getting ready to ring
in the New Year. We decorated the Lobby, made treats to share, and
even made our own funny hats to wear at the party. When the big day
finally arrived we were ready to celebrate! Just look at that spread,
June can't decide what eat, it all looks so good.

Karl Hausman entertained us on the piano and Becky lowered the
ceremonial Bologna as we counted down.

10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1... Happy New Year!

We toasted the New Year, sang Auld Lang Syne and kissed everybody in sight.
It was wonderful to welcome the 2014 in the company of good friends and family.

Best Friend Christmas Gift Exchange


The Best Friend Christmas party was an overwhelming success! We ate
cookies, drank punch, sang carols and shared some laughs. It is
amazing how exchanging a small token of friendship can generate so
much joy. The Garden Room was positively overflowing with Christmas
spirit that day. As you can see from the smiles all around, it was a
wonderful opportunity to spend some quality time with our Best
Friends. We can't wait until next year!

Game Time


At Juniper Village at Lebanon, we never have to be bored. All we have
to do is open the game cupboard in the Garden Room and our competitive
juices get flowing. Just look at the concentration on these faces.
