Avid Seamstresses Enjoy the 2015 Quilt Show

On Friday, Nov. 13th, three Juniper Village residents attended the Quilt Show at the Lebanon Expo Center.  Over 150 quilts were on display, plus there were several interactive booths, a silent auction and vendors selling fabric and supplies for sewing.  All three ladies were avid seamstresses, and two of the three have their own sewing machines here at Juniper Village.  Sara Jane is currently making dresses for her great-granddaughters, and Katie is making pillowcases for children at Hershey Medical Center, where recently the 1 millionth pillowcase was presented from all quilt guilds in the Central PA area!  Katie commented that she wishes that she was younger, as she would like to try to make some of the quilts that she saw that day.  Sara Jane, a former 4-H leader, ran into many people that she knew from her days of helping with the Home Ec. Area of the Lebanon Fair, and Elizabeth was hoping to be able to buy a quilt.  There were some "mug rugs" for sale for only $2.00, some of which were made and donated by Katie!  Everyone had a wonderful day looking at all of the beautiful quilts and getting inspired to keep sewing!
